Magento 2: Reseting your password & logging into the admin

How to log in to the Magento 2 admin:

At this point, you’ve installed and configured Magento and you’re ready to log in.The URL for the admin panel is configured during step 3 (Web Configuration) of the initial set up and as standard will be admin_ followed by a random string of characters. This is just an extra security measure for keeping away brute force hackers (even if only for a short while)

In my example the URL is /admin_1ughzc

Upon navigating to your Magento admin URL you will find the login form.Type your credentials and click “Sign In”.
You will then be presented with the Magento dashboard.

But what about if can’t remember your admin password?

How to reset your Magento 2 admin password:

Navigate to your admin url and when presented with the login form click the blue “Forgot your password?” link. The next screen you see will request the email address associated with your admin account.
“Enter your email address. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.”

The email you receive is plain and states:
“There was recently a request to change the password for your account.
If you requested this change, reset your password here:
Password reset link is here

If you did not make this request, you can ignore this email and your password will remain the same.”
